My Latest Dresses

WOW!!! I have been truly blessed--and lucky--to have the opportunity to create so many beautiful dresses lately!!!! Here is one of my FAVORITES! It has won fashion twice so far!!! It is a lovely peach and natural sand color with pearls and glass seed beads in the smocking and embroidery; Isn't she just a doll!!!!

Alexis: 2012 Miss Jeff Davis, Prettiest smile, Best Model, and Best Fashion

This is ADORABLE little Sophia; she won Most Beautiful in her pink and green silk dress in her first pageant, and won Princess and 1st runner up out of 30 contestants in her watermelon themed pageant! Her watermelon OOC received a nearly perfect score; 10, 10 and 9.9!!! How cute is she!

Sophia's silk dress is also decked out in pearl embellished smocking, along with a scalloped hemline with MORE pearls!

AND OF COURSE, sweet Camryn! She has won more than I can list--here is her latest dress; isn't she beautiful in purple! Camryn's latest silk dress is THREE colors, 2 shades of purple and a lovely limey green; her smocking has countless seed beads, and there is double piping on her smocking as well as piping along her collar, and the mock waist band; how beautiful!

This is Cam in her sweet heart themed OOC; this competition won her Queen--and qualified her for nationals in November in Florida! We are preparing her national glitz dress and thinking hard on her OOC!!!

THANK YOU ALL FOR ALLOWING ME TO SEW FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS--and for these AWESOME photos!

What's around the corner? I am currently taking orders for September-December--and filling up quickly! I have a GORGEOUS red and white dress for August--and I am excited about Alexis' and Sophia's next dresses as well!!! I am also doing an heirloom lace dress for a sweet little girl named Lily this week--and a white dress with a blue sash; reminds me of Sound of Music so I am SUPER excited about that one!

I am also finishing 2 FUN bishops; a Braves themed and a pink and green alligator bubble!!!

A book suggestion

This morning Nick and I were invited to join my summer bible study group at the pool in a neighborhood nearby. Nick brought me his helmet this morning so I figured--why not, we can ride our bike there.

Our tires were SOOO flat; luckily Lee's dad helped me via phone to figure out how to use the air compressor.

I usually am a hermit and don't attend many functions--but what a nice group of women; it was such a nice morning! The leader of our bible study is beautiful--inside and out; I could hang out with her all the time--might rub off some sweetness on me ;)

for lunch I am making a whole pan of green bean bundles! TALK ABOUT A DELICIOUS FOOD! I'm wasting away on pinterest while they cook...I see so many things I want and NEED to do for our home on pinterest!!! I don't get on there often but maybe I can start doing 2 projects a month...

This evening, after Nick's nap, we will be going to the gym. I have been reading this book for 20 minutes a day while on the stair master:

I read this psychologist's book about intimacy and sex in marriage and was so excited to find this one; I SO see myself doing the things he says women do to drive men crazy...I am excited about making some changes--it also has ways to encourage the men in your life without becoming a door mat to them--there are many things I see could be important to start doing now for Nicholas' future development! I strongly suggest any individual--especially those in relationships--to read any of Dr. Leman's books! I'm reading 'the birth order' next!

WHY I am headed to the car wash this morning

Yesterday I went to Kroger for a few things. When I walked to my car I began unloading my groceries and the plastic sack with the gallon of milk ripped--the gallon hit the ground and splattered all over the brand new gold Camry next to my car.

I ran inside and told the Customer Service Rep what had happened--she said, 'Just go get another gallon'; I said 'Well I wanted to make sure the owners of the car know there's milk all over their car!' She started to send a young man bagging groceries with a roll of paper towels to the parking lot.

I walked to the back of the store, grabbed another gallon and headed back to my car. As I got a couple spots away from my SUV I saw an old town car with very large rims heading to the spot next to me that the Camry had been in. The Kroger associate had not removed the overflowing busted gallon of milk. The 'pimped out' ride ran over the milk and I watched it splash all over my vehicle.

I just stood there in disbelief of my luck and started laughing as I walked to my passenger side door. The driver of the car looked at me not knowing what to say.

I said, "You know what? I dropped the gallon you just ran over and it's all over another car!' He laughed, too.

Karma's a bitch--and I just have CONSTANT unfortunate luck!

Thinkin' Bout the 4th

This morning we are getting ready for another adventure with Regina and her children--breakfast at 'The Pancake House' and then photo shoot of her adorable kids downtown! I'm excited to start picture taking again!

I have been taking time to catch up on orders--Lee's schedule in the Spring and then pageant season really just did a number on me!!!! But I so have appreciated people trusting me with their projects! Last night I was contacted about a patriotic OOC--4th of July is my FAVORITE holiday, so I am super excited about that! I also may be making 2 lace button on suits for a 3 year old photo shoot! How exciting is THAT! LOVE lace on the boys!

The fourth is my favorite holiday because of growing up in Huntsville. I remember so many fun times when I was a bit older. Lee and I were dating at one point and he had friends over and we all rode in his truck to the river, parked on the side of the road and went to the big field around the pavillion and watched fireworks over the water--so cool with all the boats in the river and hundreds of families, people, children, couples watching too. Ha--I even remember what I was wearing and the cute pictures we took together--if only we'd had Instagram back then! Then one time a guy I dated in college took me on the river again with his family and friends; the dock was all lit up with dangling lights, great drinks, fun company! The river was just so memorable!

Then the year Lee and I started seriously dating he took me downtown for the 4th and bought me my birthday presents early since he was possibly deploying before my actual birthday in August. We went to Tybee for lunch and I got sick and had to RUN back to the pier to use the bathroom--I literally had to force myself in front of a line of about a hundred women, lol--just my luck. That night we sat on the wooden ramp to the beach and watched fireworks and then got caught in traffic and almost ran out of gas on the way back to Savannah.

Then the last 2 Fourth of July's my friend Baylee and I have spent together...sadly we may not get to continue our tradition this year--but we had so much fun the past 2 years. I miss her so much! We have had the most fun on long pointless car rides--since high school! The year before last I was flying back from Mississippi family and didn't go on my connecting flight out of Atlanta so we could ride together to Savannah; we got lost in a horrible part of Macon and didn't think we'd make it home! The next year we went to Mississippi and watched fireworks on the water and had so much fun with my family reunion! We also went to 4 different Victoria Secret stores for the semi annual sale...If people knew how much we'd ACTUALLY spent they'd think we were nut jobs! I hope she has a great Fourth this year!!!! I wish we could celebrate together! Who knows--maybe I'll find a way to bring her back here :)

ON to pancakes! I made a batch around 9 PM last night to prep my taste buds for this morning! Here is a GORGEOUS picture of my angelic baby boy from a few days ago, and my friend's son Baker!!! He has the cutest expressions--but he's terrified of me; he starts trembling and crying :( he'll learn to love me i hope!

BOOT SHOPPING

Today my new friend, Regina, and I went hunting for cowboy boots...I had found a lil' shop online in a small neighboring town...it was INTERESTING!

The store owner was an older man and there were quite a few kinds of boots, but not too many...his credit card machine wouldn't print--I actually had him void my transaction so I could leave a check (pray I'm only charged once), and the door wouldn't even latch all the way shut...but hey--I'm all for supporting small businesses!

Well Regina and I got the COOLEST Jack Daniel's boots! Nick already has a pair of boots but I will return there to get him some in the future possibly! Regina got her son and daughter matching pairs--I can't wait to photograph them knees down in their cool new kicks!!!

Our 2 year old boys went a bit nuts in the boot shop...AND--just our luck--they BOTH had stinky diapers...they literally had a little poop party while we were trying on our boots!

Needless to say it was interesting--but check out our awesome boots!!!
